Rope Grabs or Flexible/Rigid Anchor Lines

A simple piece of rope, normally three-strand or kernmantle in construction, with an adjustable rope grab. These can be manual or automatic. Rope grabs allow for both horizontal and vertical movement and are manually adjusted if used horizontally but the still suffer from the risk of cutting over sharp edges and pendulum or swing falls when operating away from the anchorage.
