Special Applications
Cargo Handling Equipment
Checkmate will design and fabricate special slings and assemblies for a wide and diverse range of applications. Our experience and technical expertise is unrivalled and this together with our extensive inhouse test facilities enable our team to present the most cost effective lifting solution.

Dunbar®
The Dunbar® utilises webbing that has been used, for example as lifting slings. After processing and treatment the old webbing is inspected for damage, equal lengths are cut and the webbing is “plied” in layers, resulting in a construction of a highly efficient dunnage bar that is totally reusable.
Dunbar® represents an ecological and environmentally friendly method of providing cargo support and packing and can be used in a similar manner as conventional wooden dunnage with the added advantage of also being flexible.
Printed with your name for added security, low cost, easy to handle, lightweight and very durable, it is also impervious to most forms of chemical attack and is less likely to support the importation of pests.

Centrum® Reel Lifting Sling
The Centrum® Sling has been developed in response to customer requirements to increase flexibility when making reel shipments, the metal base plate which is self colour, galvanised or dry powder coated, is rated up to 2.5metric tonnes. The sling is completely detachable from the plate and its housing through the utilisation of a threaded key-way, around which is placed a roller sleeve to protect the sling and spread the load evenly.

In the unlikely event that the base plate is damaged the sling can be quickly and simply removed and transferred to another plate, should the sling require replacement during its lifetime, then it can also be simply removed and another installed from stock without requirement for a time consuming sewing operation and the associated costs in returning it to the manufacturer.

Additionally the slings can be removed from the plate to be used on other cargo should an urgent need arise. World patents pending.
