A new knight joins Checkmate

Checkmate Managing Director, Oliver Auston, is pleased to announce the strengthening of his sales team with the appointment of Alastair Thompson as Sales Director.

With a wealth of Sales and Marketing experience developed whilst working with Phillips Petroleum, Diversey, Unilever, Latchways and Limpet Technology, Oliver says, “Alastair will drive the next exciting phase of Checkmate’s growth.”

With a comprehensive background spanning 20 years in the working at height industry, Alastair is experienced in successfully selling products, systems, services and training across Oil and Gas, Construction, Telecoms, Utilities, Entertainment, Aerospace and Renewables.

Alastair has an enviable track record of managing the organic growth of several companies by developing their global distribution channels, opening up new geographies and emerging markets, winning tenders and contracts, and influencing new product designs to stimulate the market.

An expert in international standards and legislation that underpin the industry he is an active member of the Occupational Health Working group at Renewables UK.
