Checkmate wins innovation award at Liftex 2014
Checkmate managing director Oliver Auston collected the LEEA Product Innovation Award for the Vantage VI harness and new CheckFall lanyard range on June 19, 2014 in the LiftEx Village at the Safety & Health Show London Excel.
Geoff Holden, CEO of LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) presented the award, saying:
“The product innovations were genuinely new ideas and help users and inspectors identify when products should be removed from service and also increase the serviceable life of the product.”
Checkmate described the new products as a bunch of mini innovations coming together to make a BIG revolution in harness and lanyard technology for the future. New features include ‘tear indicating’ webbing, reflective tape that is actually woven into the fibre of the material, fall indicator deployment systems, retractable flexible label covers, Teflon-coated webbing and trapezoidal links – just a few of the latest innovations from the bold British designers and manufacturers of fall protection equipment.
Oliver Auston commented:
“Sometimes one person has one good idea that we manage to develop and capitalise on. But with Vantage VI it was a barrage of fabulous new ideas from our entire design team seamlessly integrated into brilliant new products. We are lucky to have such talented individuals with fresh ideas and the appetite to push the boundaries of technology with each new product release.”
